1. Overview

Every day we extract a handful of meaningful information from a ton of raw data that enter through our senses. We organize and analyze this information and store it as knowledge. To attain a certain goal, we apply this knowledge, experiencing both success and failure, and in turn, this knowledge transforms into personal wisdom.

MindMapper goes beyond creating mind maps on your personal computer. Our development philosophy has always been to make it an easy experience to organize scattered and complex information, and progress them into knowledge and wisdom. MindMapper was the first in the industry to integrate with Microsoft Office and add Project Management capabilities more than 7 years ago. We are driven by innovative concepts and relentless R&D to realize our development philosophy.

To support converting raw Data into valuable Wisdom through a process called Mind processor, MindMapper 2008 is released with these key features.

1.1 Mind Map + Concept Map
To maximize your potential thought process and easily visualize them, you simultaneously need disseminating, converging, innovating, and logical way of thinking. MindMapper 2008 added concept map features into existing map structure. You can now go beyond mapping and creative idea creation, to easily, quickly and logically visualize them in real time.

MindMapper 2008 helps make Concept Maps and Flow Charts easier. New branch designs allow creation of Concept Maps, and new flowing elements allow creation of Flow Charts.
1.2 Personal Knowledge Management
Mind mapping software can effectively help you visualize and easily organize your thoughts for complex tasks such as To Do Lists, Brainstorming, and Project Planning. However, to go beyond simple Mind Mapping, and fully utilize your intellect, you need the ability to manage and recycle your mapping information for optimal synergy. MindMapper 2008 is your Personal Knowledge Management. We added and improved the following PKM features to support knowledge generation to synergy creation.
- Create a visual diagram of your folder structure in your hard drive, and visualize the folders by folder size or by number of files, allowing you to practically view your bulky or massive folder structure in one view.
- Search and extract specific themes and subjects from your map and view the results in a hyperlinked document.
- Search other map files for specific text or condition and extract the topic satisfying these conditions.
- Support for multiple ways to sort your map (Basic Ordering Information) to easily reconfigure and reorder maps for quicker information analysis. You can sort using a wide range of conditions, including even text colors and schedule.
1.3 Improved Project Management
Projects can mean simple items such as cleaning a home, repairing a garage, planning a summer vacation, or large tasks such as installing a CRM system or constructing a 4-lane bridge. But they all share common items such as a goal, start and an end.
MindMappers built-in scheduling feature can take a brainstorming-session map and immediately add scheduling information. This allows for creative and logical thinking process to naturally lead into executing the tasks involved.

MindMapper 2008 made these tasks even simpler by improving Scheduling and Resource related UI and features. Here are some highlights:
- Schedule Windows now shows Resource and Summary Pane in addition to the Task List and Gantt Chart. Each pane can be enabled or disabled for viewing.
- Resources for each Task can now be assigned straight from the Schedule Window.
- Summary pane has user customizable columns for viewing or hiding.
- Gantt Chart visually differentiates between task and sub tasks so you can quickly observe this information graphically.
- Scheduling Windows support various Color Themes
1.4 Windows Vista & Office 2007
